Basic Taco Mince
I know Taco mince is a staple in pretty much every household worldwide, so it may at first seem a little redundant to post a recipe for it. However, the basics tend to vary wildly between families and many households rely solely on pre-made sauces or single purpose spice blends. Now I completely agree that ready-made sauces have their place for convenience and allow access to a large variety meals for minimal effort. I’m also a great fan of spice blends and keep a few special jars on hand to achieve effortless consistent results. The main benefit to understanding the components of a spice blend though is that you can…

Vietnamese Style Caramelized Pork Bowls
Strong punchy Vietnamese flavours come through in this astonishingly easy high protein Caramelized Pork Mince Stirfry. The full version of this recipe is made by braising chunks of pork neck in a sweet, savoury liquid over several hours, but this weeknight version is ready and on the table in under an hour. Taking advantage of store prepared vegetables can be a worthwhile shortcut to increasing variety and reducing prep time, however there is really ultimate flexibility with the vegetable mix to customize to your personal taste and preference. Sweet Soy Noodles with Crispy Onion & Asian Greens
Today’s recipe is fairly short and sweet. We started making this noodle dish after Derek Lau posted his version of Kolo Mee on Instagram. It has since become a weeknight staple that is both delicious and quickly prepared. The original recipe featured a brand of plant based mince, so you could certainly sub that in if you prefer. Tofu crumbles or rehydrated TVP would also work as suitable replacements for the Beef mince depending on your preferences – as would chicken or pork. The fattier mince brings significant extra flavour, however lean and extra lean minces are also suitable lower calorie alternatives. For more noodle inspriation, check out our Yakisoba…

Yakisoba Noodles
This recipe is my makeshift Australian version of the classic Japanese fried noodles. You can buy pre-made yakisoba sauce from Asian grocery stores in Australia, however this recipe tries to use ingredients you would likely already have in your pantry. Recipe Notes Key Ingredients
